Every great sporting experience starts with great people.

I never planned on being a coach. Two season-ending ankle injuries in two years will sort that out for you. With playing off the table, I put my hand up to help out at my local country footy club instead. Dad had been club president for years, so the place was basically my second home growing up anyway. Giving back wasn't really a decision. It was just what you did.

Turns out coaching a bunch of 10 to 13 year olds teaches you a lot more about people than it does about football. The coaches who actually stick in a kid's memory aren't the ones with the best set play. They're the ones who left them more confident than they found them.

In 2022 I packed up and moved from WA to Victoria for a dream job, helping build Hawthorn's first AFLW program. Incredible opportunity. Also a lonely one on the coaching front. I had zero local network, so finding a team of my own to coach meant hours scrolling Facebook groups and club websites with no real idea what was out there, or who to even ask.

Eventually I landed at a club ten minutes from my front door, and two seasons in I properly understood what it means to be connected to the right one. These days I coach an Under 19 Premier side. I got that job the old fashioned way: cold emailing my CV and talking myself up, because nothing better existed.

So I built something better. Every club I've ever been part of has the same problem on loop. Good clubs can't find good people, and good people have no idea the club that needs them even exists. ClubSport Connect is the fix.

1. Who we are

ClubSport Connect ("we", "us", "our") operates clubsportconnect.com, a platform connecting sports clubs and organisations with coaches, physios, trainers and other sporting professionals across Australia. By using the site, creating an account, posting a listing, or using the forum, you agree to these Terms.

2. What the platform is (and isn't)

ClubSport Connect is a listing and community platform. We help clubs advertise roles and help individuals find opportunities, but we are not a party to any employment, contracting, or engagement arrangement made between a club and a coach, physio, or trainer. We don't guarantee the accuracy of listings, verify the credentials of any user, or guarantee any hiring or employment outcome. Any arrangement you enter into with another user is between you and them, at your own risk — we'd recommend clubs do their own screening (working with children checks, qualifications, references) before engaging anyone found through the platform.

3. Accounts

You need to provide accurate information when creating an account or posting a listing. You're responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your login details secure. We can suspend or remove accounts that provide false information, breach these Terms, or misuse the platform.

4. Job listing fees & payment

Posting a job listing is a one-time, non-subscription fee (currently $90 AUD for a single listing, $240 AUD for 3, or $350 AUD for 5), each listing live for 30 days. Payments are processed securely by Stripe — we don't store your card details. Fees are for the listing service itself (visibility on the job board for the listing period) and are generally non-refundable once a listing is live, except where required by Australian Consumer Law or at our discretion.

5. Community & content standards

The forum and listings are for genuine, relevant content related to community sport, coaching, and club life. Don't post anything unlawful, harassing, discriminatory, misleading, or that infringes someone else's rights. You retain ownership of content you post, but you grant us a licence to display it on the platform. We can remove content or flag/report posts that don't meet these standards.

6. Third-party services

Payments are handled by Stripe, and other parts of the site may rely on third-party services. Your use of those services is also subject to their own terms.

7. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ClubSport Connect isn't liable for losses arising from arrangements between users, inaccurate listings or profiles, or service interruptions. Nothing in these Terms limits any consumer guarantee you're entitled to under the Australian Consumer Law that can't be excluded.

8. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the platform after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

Privacy Policy

Depending on how you use ClubSport Connect, we may collect: your name and contact details; club or organisation details; job listing content (role details, descriptions, logos); forum posts and messages; and payment-related information handled directly by Stripe (we don't receive or store your full card details).

2. How we use it

We use your information to operate the platform — creating and displaying listings and forum content, processing job-listing payments, communicating with you about your account or listings, and improving the site. We don't sell your personal information to third parties.

3. Who we share it with

We share payment information with Stripe, our payment processor, solely to process your payment. Listings and forum posts are, by design, visible to other users and the public on the site. We may disclose information where required by law.

4. Data storage & security

We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold, but no online platform can guarantee perfect security. Please use a strong, unique password for your account.

5. Your rights

Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you can ask us what personal information we hold about you, request corrections, or request deletion of your account and associated data (subject to information we need to retain for legal or legitimate business reasons, e.g. transaction records). 6. Cookies

The site may use cookies or similar local storage to keep you signed in and remember preferences. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll update the "last updated" date above when we do.
